A New warning

A computer keyboard
Computer experts are warning people to be extra careful when opening e-mails on Friend's Day.

They warn that Friend's e-cards may be hiding viruses or spyware that could damage computers.

Experts warn users to make sure their security software is up to date and not to open any Friend's-related messages from unknown e-mail addresses.

They also advise people not to open attachments and not to click on links to websites sent in e-mails.

The ILOVEYOU virus
Some of those websites may try to convince people to give away their bank details when they shouldn't.

In 2000 an e-mail virus called Love Bug caused problems for lots of computer users after its subject heading ILOVEYOU persuaded people to open it.

Computer hackers are expected to try and use the Friend's Day to get people to open things they shouldn't.
